Bonita Coe, MD, MBA is board-certified in Internal Medicine. She is an assistant clinical professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. Dr. Coe joins the Division of General Internal Medicine in its new offices at 2300 M Street NW. She is a graduate of Stanford University and the Howard University College of Medicine. She completed her residency training at the Cleveland Clinic. Prior to joining GW, Dr. Coe was a clinical assistant professor at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Previously, she was a senior clinical instructor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University Medical School where she was on staff at the Case Medical Center of University Hospitals of Cleveland. She also practiced as a member of a multi-specialty practice group in Cleveland and then ran her own private practice before taking time to obtain her MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. While at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Coe had numerous teaching responsibilities including precepting medical students and residents in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Her clinical interests include: primary care, preventive medicine, sickle cell anemia, diabetes, hypertension, chronic pain management and women's health. Over the course of her clinical career, she has remained active in the community, participating in community health events and speaking engagements to promote healthy lifestyles and appropriate chronic disease management.
