A Washington, D. C. native, Theo W. Hodge Jr. MD completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia (BA). Obtaining a Health Professions Scholarship form the US Military he attended and completed medical school at the University Of Virginia (MD). A residency in Internal Medicine followed at the Georgetown University/Washington Veterans Affairs program. Following residency Dr. Hodge served as an active duty Army officer during Desert Storm. After serving his country for three years, he returned to Washington, D.C. to complete a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the Washington Hospital Center/Veterans Affairs Medical Center. In private medical practice in the Washington, D.C. area for the past twenty years, Dr. Hodge is known for his work to promote awareness of HIV in all communities but particularly the African American Gay community. Committed to excellent medical care, Dr. Hodge attends multiple medical meetings a year to keep abreast of the constant changes in medical management. He is a strong believer in the active involvement of the patient in his/her care. Board certified in both internal medicine and infectious diseases, Dr. Hodge has served as principal investigator and sub- investigator on numerous clinical trials advancing collective knowledge in the treatment of HIV/AIDS.
